About Us
MTP – MODEL TRAIN PRODUCTS was founded in 1986 (oh my... we're 23 years old!!) and was selling our first product, computer generated switch lists for model railroad operations (sorry no longer available). The idea was to create a product that would be useful, sell it and use the profits to buy more "stuff" for our model railroad. Currently, we are furnishing the local model railroading community with several innovative products! Each of these is home-grown out of our need to have these items for our model railroad.
We are a home-grown company, based in Canton, Michigan and operating very low key and out of our basement. We attend 3-4 train shows in the Detroit area per "season" and are happy to accept mail orders.
